The Levitators are a six piece dance crossover act combining styles such as Electro, Funk, and Reggae delivered with a 70’s Rock and Roll attitude. Incorporating live drums and percussion, bass, stacks of keyboards, guitar, vocals and samples, The Levitators never fail to impress at a live show, and ALWAYS get the crowd dancing!

Forming in 2004, it was 2007 when things really started moving for the band, when they were picked to play The Big Day Out following great success from playing sold out local shows.

Late 2007, Triple J caught wind of their self titled EP and after liking the track Aqualung, Unearthed the band giving them a spot at Parklife 2007.

The band then started recording their debut album, and released the single ‘Dinner at Panchos’, which received national airplay on Triple J, as well as Nova and Fresh FM locally. The album was released in Adelaide November 2008 to a sold out show and is now available worldwide on iTunes. The band toured NSW and VIC in support of the record.

In Feb 2009, the band started the year opening The Adelaide Fringe Festival in front of 10,000 punters on a massive outdoor stage. They ended the year at Peats Ridge Festival playing a high energy set to delighted punters.

Mid 2010 saw the band back in the studio working with Dave Joncheff (formerly half of D’n'B outfit Skyver & Djon) for the first time. This creative partnership proved so fruitfull that later that year Dave joined the band to take over sampling duties thus allowing Sam to start playing guitar live for the first time and adding a whole new dimension to the bands sound.

Consistent radio support has come from Triple J, Nova and Community radio with their self titled EP and the album ‘Play It Like This’, and the guys have now finished a brand new EP titled ‘Eclectica’ that showcases sounds such as hard funk, old school D&B, hip hop and reggae all fused together in the unique energetic party styles that The Levitators bring to the table. Since its release, Triple J, Nova and Community radio around the country have been spinning tracks from ‘Eclectica’ such as ‘Once Again’ and “Sunshine In My Juice’
