Describe your music.
We would describe our music as organically inspired - electronically enhanced - high energy dance music. Our music reflects the wide range of diverse musical influences each member of the band brings to the music ranging from hardcore Electronica to Reggae and Blues.

Who’s been a big musical influence for you?
Those acts that have been a big musical influence for us collectively include… Electronica: Propeller Heads, Prodigy, Massive Attack, The Bird. Hip Hop: The Beastie Boys, Public Enemy & Jurassic 5. Drum’n’Bass: LTJ Bukem, Roni Size, Andy C. Rock: Led Zeppelin, The Doors & Frank Zappa. Reggae/Dub: Asian Dub Foundation, Bob Marley, Lee “Scratch” Perry

Tell us about the local electronic music community in Adelaide.
Adelaide has always had a strong and loyal electronic music scene, but it’s only been recently that the community has begun to embrace local live dance acts. It’s now much more common to see live electronica/dance bands playing at the big dance parties along side the established DJs. Having live acts in a line up tends to add a different kind of energy to a party that complements what the DJs are doing.

Are your live shows very different to your recordings? What do you prefer, the studio or the stage?
Our live shows are quite different from our recordings in that there is a greater prominence toward the improvisational aspect of the bands music with a much stronger emphasis on live percussion in our shows. We commonly like to play parts of a song differently or add whole new sections to established songs so that our live sets are continually evolving and remain exciting for the band and audience alike. We also tend to play much more epic renditions of many of our songs live, incorporating much longer and deliberate build-ups, letting the energy of the audience dictate how long we play parts of our songs.

What have you got planned for the future?
We plan to work on some new recordings soon and are hoping to be included on the line up of the Adelaide Big Day Out for next year. Beyond that, we are also working toward playing shows interstate next year.

Australian music is…
Multidimensional, diverse and busting at the seams with underrated talent! It often has a greater capacity to speak to us as Australians.
